Penny & Peter Main

MARRIED 10 APRIL 2021

No matter where you are in life, you can find your soulmate. Even if it’s working for the local Shell Service Station.

It was all the way back in 2003 when they first met. Penny worked for the Belconnen station and Peter was in Charnwood. And after work, they would hang out with other colleagues. Over time, this time spent together turned into something very special - nearly 18 years of time together can kinda do that. ;)

It wasn’t just the small things, or convenience. It was the camaraderie and the care that they gave each other that kept the relationship going for so long. Penny can talk to Peter about anything, and he has this ability to calm her whenever she is stressed, keeping her grounded, which is something she loves. Penny’s support for Peter, and her kind and caring nature helping him through the day-to-day and helping him reach his life goals is why he loves her so much.

Now Peter not being much of a guy for marriage, Penny’s favourite moment in her life with him, hands down, has to be the moment she walked into the church and saw him standing there waiting for her - he never took his eyes off her the entire time! She was filled with so much happiness and was so glad that after all this time, he was totally there, and it was going to happen! True to form, Peter agrees the wedding day was sublime, but short of that, just spending time together is literally his favourite thing in the world.

In their time together, they have visited so many places together. Mainly up and down the east coast of Australia. They enjoy the Gold Coast the most and return often.

So, noting we said that Peter wasn’t really keen on the whole marriage thing, it came as a COMPLETE SURPRISE to Penny when Peter proposed to her in front of everyone they knew at their annual Christmas party, 1 December 2018. Peter had created this beautiful little moment where Penny’s father, all dressed as Santa, after handing out all the presents to the children, called Penny’s name. For those of you who playing at home, it’s a tradition that only the children are given present at Christmas, so this in itself baffled Penny. But she walked all the way down the garden to receive what Santa was holding. Little did she know Peter had had everyone help him follow her so that by the time she had received her gift from Santa, he was already behind her, on one knee, ready to pop the question. He held a box, asked the obvious question, and Penny said YES! She more or less snatched the ring from the box and placed it straight on her finger so Peter couldn’t take it back! :P

Their wedding day was just as amazing as they hoped it would be. We didn’t move around much so we could support Peter, but he was trooper and went to places we didn’t think he would, just so he could take beautiful images for him and Penny. It was truly a sight to behold! By the time we got them to their ceremony, he was still ready to party the night away! Here are just a few of the awesome images we snapped from their day…
