Not all perfect love stories start off in the most perfect place. but that doesn’t mean that the love isn’t golden from the get-go! For Kellie & Chad, their love story starts in a well-known Pub in Canberra, King O’Malley’s. They had both had their work Christas parties and O’Malley’s was their place of choice to visit for an after party. On this fateful evening, they got a little more than they originally bargained for, and are SO much the better as a result!
Their relationship quickly blossomed into something very special and they settled down together and created a little family. And when we asked them what their favourite moment of each other was, they both said it’s an equal tie between all three births of their beautiful children (although Chad maintains he said it first)!
However, there was another moment that they remember quite vividly, as the funniest one they’ve shared together. It was before they had kids on a Jet Ski Tour in Fiji. They and many other couples were out on the water when the weather suddenly turned quite nasty, as it can in a tropical paradise. They were in shark-infested waters and had to make a mad dash for the shore before the weather set in. Kel clung to Chad for dear life as they sped towards the shore whilst the water was getting VERY choppy. While they got air on their way home, many other couples kept falling into the water repeatedly, making for a crazy time then, yet exceptionally funny now.
Other than Fiji, which was their first trip together as a couple, they have also been to the US with their son, their first born, and they told us it was a pretty cool trip, especially Disneyland!
Chad fell instantly in love with Kel’s beautiful kin nature and terrible sense of humour and he always reminds Kel on a near daily basis that he was in love with her from the moment they met. Kellie found Chad’s confident personality his most alluring quality and she totally agrees that he always told her how he felt from day dot!
After a simple proposal while having a picnic at the Cotter on their daughter’s birthday in 2018, it wasn’t long before all the plans were in motion and their wedding came to fruition. On the day, we started at the DECO hotel before heading out to the Gold Creek Chapel to seal the deal. After that, we spent a little time in the gardens there before stopping off at the forest in Giralang before heading to their reception at Thoroughbred Park. We were lucky enough to use the racecourse at sunset and then head back out later in the evening to take photos against the fireworks that were happening just over the road (their wedding fell on the Canberra Show weekend!).
