Julie & Troy Cousins

MARRIED 17 APRIL 2021

There have been so many memorable events and occasions that have meant a lot to Julie & Troy, but one that stands out is their first trip away on the March Canberra long weekend 2018, where Troy convinced Julie that they were going camping. For those playing at home, Julie HATES camping! Troy even had a fishing rod and blow up mattress in the back, plus an esky filled with bait (little did she know that was filled with bottles of wine)!

They drove up to Terrigal and Troy told Julie they were going on a house boat. Again, not great as Julie gets seasick! So, this wasn’t looking good… It wasn’t until he surprised her by stopping at The Crowne Plaza - he said camping for him is only ever 3 stars or above! The amazing dinner and cocktails in the pool were the highlights of a beautiful romantic weekend away.

They have had many romantic weekends away following that which bring back beautiful memories, but one of their greatest highlights is the family trip they took to Hawaii where they surprised Julie’s kids by going to Disneyland before arriving in Hawaii. They even got to spend New Year’s Eve at Disneyland! Troy remembers the look of awe and excitement on all of their faces and the contentment and happiness this bought Julie. Watching the amazing sunsets over Waikiki beach, hiring a convertible mustang to drive around the island and taking in the sites, making memories, is something they will never forget.

Julie & Troy met back in 2017, and on their first date, they talked for hours and hours and hours! It was like they’d known each other for years! The attraction was insane - they both have the same interests, they’re both very social people and those first few kisses they shared were just electric!

So, it makes a lot of sense that there was a proposal on the cards! Sure enough, to Troy’s credit, it was a total surprise! Julie was surprising Troy by taking him to the Peppers in Bowral for their 2-year anniversary. It was the night before they were going to see Elton John in concert, in Sydney. Now, Troy knew about the Elton John concert and was planing to propose to Julie at the concert, but with the surprise of Bowral, and the surrounds being so beautiful, he just couldn’t help himself and just blurted it all out that night between mains and dessert. There was a soppy card, and lots of tears, but I’m sure you’ve all worked out that the answer was YES!

Their wedding was supposed to on Julie’s 50th birthday, so the wedding itself would hopefully come as a surprise to all their guests. But the coronavirus saw that that would never happen. So instead, they moved it by a year, and tried the same surprise, but we gather there was far too many people who had twigged to what was going on by then. Even so, their day was just as beautiful as they’d originally imagined, and this is just a few of the shots we managed to capture for them…
