Love is definitely more simple than you all think it is. It is nothing more than a deep understanding you can find between yourself and another amazing person that allows you both to be who you truly are with each other, and also so much more with the knowledge that that person has your back at all times. It’s a safety that you will never know until you’ve found love, and once you’ve found it, you know.
Gabrielle & Sam met while working at the same venue. Of course, it was easier for them to watch each other from a distance while working together, and it wasn’t until Sam knew that Gabrielle was quitting that very same day that he decided to finally muster up the courage to ask her out.
Since that day, the friendship they created blossomed into a very special love. It will have been 5 years they’ve been together in January 2022 and their love has grown stronger and stronger every day.
Sam found that he could be himself around Gabrielle, which was something very important to him. Gabrielle told us jokingly that she’s always needed an ambulance driver unhand in case of emergencies. We’re sure that’s not the only reason she fell in love with Sam. ;)
Some of their favourite memories involve the trip they took to Sam’s home town together, and the Tourism awards in 2018, where they got to dress up real fancy. It also now includes the amazing engagement shoot were put together for them, where Sam will tell you he was in stitches the entire time laughing his head off, enjoying the experience far more than he expected. But nothing stands out as the best memory ever than Gabrielle’s “knee-jerk” verbal reaction to Sam’s proposal.
Speaking of the proposal, it was a plan that Sam had from almost the day he asked her to go out with him. And a year on from then, he knew he had to marry her. He waited for the right moment. The first chance he got, he was thwarted by the bush fires. The second, pouring rain. So, as we know, the third time was the charm, on their 3rd anniversary of being together, on a beautiful wine tour of the Hunter Valley.
It goes without saying that many many weddings we’ve done recently have been affected by the Covid situation, and this one was no exception, falling as the first wedding we managed to get done properly on the very day after the restrictions were released in order to allow the event that took place. Notwithstanding the very rocky road that had to be trodden to get to their day, and the trepidation around the rules and restrictions, both Gabrielle & Sam managed to create such a beautiful day, with the help of some very amazing people, and all we can say is, it was what made the day even more memorable, and a wedding that will stick in our minds for a very long time.
