Tinder is fast becoming the place you meet your soulmate these days, as it’s really is a way for everyone to meet without making the process too cumbersome, or having to spend a fortune! It’s certainly lost its reputation in our eyes, as far too many couples of ours have formed beautiful relationships that started on Tinder.
Amanda & Derek bonded over their shared love of videogames, boardgames, and nerd culture - it’s one of the reasons we clicked with them so well! We’re sure it’s the nerd culture that has meant that our Director and Derek have passed each other plenty of times in the past, but we’re just not quite sure exactly where or when (maybe even a convention?)! Either way, this is not about our relationship with them, it’s about theirs! ;)
They’ve been together since February 2017, making it over 4 years of beautiful time spent doing what they love most. One of the best moments they’ve had together was during a trip to Lake Crackenback. They had only been dating a few months at the time, and after lunch, they went for a short walk during which they both said they loved each other for the first time. Everyone remembers where that happened, so we can completely understand why it forms such a beautiful memory for these guys!
The love came quickly as Amanda is wickedly funny, fiercely protective and tenaciously driven - qualities that Derek has always aspired to have around him! Derek is just amazing - he gets Amanda. He also encourages her to challenge herself, pushing her out of her comfort zone, and as such, they have grown together into such a formidable pair!
But all things aside, their trip to Iceland has to be the BEST trip they’ve been on! Not just for the epic scenery you can find in that part of the world (consider us a tad jealous!) but also because it’s where he proposed! It was back in November 2018, and Derek took Amanda to a very secluded, yet beautifully captivating lagoon. It’s an iceberg lagoon, and in a secluded part of the trail around it, he dropped to one knee and popped the question!
On their day, we followed them from their respective places to the Lake George Winery, where we spent a glorious afternoon in the sun, and then partied the night away! Here are just a few of the images we captured on their day…
